The beginning of a long road
Since my fellowship at MakerSquare has ended, the time has finally come for me to jump into the world of job hunting and I can honestly say that I'm pretty terrified. I know that any hiring manager hopes that the next candidate they get will be the perfect fit for them, just like I hope that a job I land will be the perfect fit for me. But the thought of live coding or whiteboarding while being judged by senior software engineers is scary to a whole new level.
After this week, they'll be no more going to MakerSquare at 9am and leaving at 8pm, and it really makes me sad. I've gone through sweat and tears with every single one of these people and accumulated over 700 hours of coding alongside them. Can you imagine that? How many people can you say you've spent over 700 hours with? I don't even think I've spent that much time physically being with my best friends, but I've spent it with these people trying to lead themselves to a better career. We started out as strangers but ended up as a family.
Wishing everyone a quick and speedy hunt! Can't wait to see where the world will take you, or where you all will take the world.
